Heritage Plaza History

It was also the only large-scale privately funded building project in downtown Houston during that time, owing to the dire economic situation. It was known as the most recently built skyscraper in the city of Houston for more than a decade until the completion of 1500 Louisiana Street in 2002.
Heritage Plaza Features
The Heritage Plaza stands 762 feet or 232 meters tall. It contains 53 floors with 1,150,000 sq. feet or 107,000 sq. meters of living space. The building was designed by architect Mohammed Nasr of Houston-based M. Nasr and Partners P.C.
Heritage Plaza Design
The Heritage Plaza is a Postmodern style skyscraper made up mainly of steel, glass and granite. The building is noted for its stepped granite feature located on top of the structure. It resembles a Mayan pyramid that its architect was inspired by during a trip in the Yucatan. The crown of the tower is said to resemble an eagle head with its wings. The building interiors were designed with Mexican influences.
